Walgreens Shopping List 10/25 – 10/31/09

walgreens

These are the best deals I see this week at Walgreens.

If you are having trouble getting enough items in your transaction to use all the manufacturer coupons and Register Reward you have, then listen to this tip.  Buy a number of very low cost filler items (last week it was pencils that were just pennies each) to beef up your item count since you cannot have a higher total number of manufacturer-issued coupons and Register Rewards than you have total items in your order.

If you are new to Walgreens’ loyalty program and earning Register Rewards, I explain in detail here. Learn to read this shopping list here. Mercedes helped get this list started and I added to it based on the best deals I found in the forums at A Full Cup.

Also – for Loreal users – powder, blush and I think foundation is on sale BOGO. I got 2 Loreal True Match Blush Compacts – reg. $10.99 each.

    Bought 2 @ 10.99 * 2 = 21.98
    Less BOGO -10.99
    Less 2 $2 Loreal coupons from 9/13 RP -$4

Total for two compacts $6.99 – great price in my eyes if you wear this. I use it everyday and stock up at this price. Anyone ever see it at a lower price than $3.50 a piece?

  2. Jen

Also – if anyone wears Physicians Formula make up – almost all of it is marked down 50% because Walgreens is going to stop carrying this 2/10 per the cashier. I use the bronzer beads which are normally $12+ – used some of my RR’s from this past month with all the good deals to minimize out of pocket – bought 2 at $6.59 each – which is the lowest price I have ever been able to find. Might be a good time to stock up if you wear these products.

There was also a $1 off coupon in the 8/09 SS

  3. Laura

I go to the Walgreens off of Dunkirk and their Emergen-C Boosters are in the second to last aisle by the pharmacy on the bottom shelf. I’ve been getting one of these every week!

  4. Erin

Coke products is 4-12packs/$10. Limit 4. (others on sale 4/10 are Dr. pepper, A&W, Sunkist, 7 up, Canada Dry)
That is a good price, as far as I know. Usually I see 4/11 at Target. Or 3/10.98 at Cub or Rainbow.

What do you think, has anyone seen better?

  5. Laura

The Beano coupon is for 30ct+, so it won’t work for this deal.

  6. Jennifer M

Erin ~ Any time you can get pop for .25 or less per can, it is a good price! Haven’t really seen it at the $5 per case price since around Labor Day, so stock up!

  7. Nancy

Do you know if Walgreens accept expired Manufacuring coupons like Cub Foods and Target?

  8. Michelle

Where is the Carmex coupon on their website?

  9. Pauline

The Dove bar soap coupon is not for a single bar but I believe a six pack. Can someone let me know the correct size for the free Dove soap?

Don’t want to get everyone too riled up, but the cashier and manager at my Wags warned me that there may be some new policy changes coming down the pipe regarding RR. Right now I can use last week’s RR to buy a product that will generate a new RR. They claim that when the new policy goes in effect, if you pay with a RR then the register will not spit out your new RR. So it is their way of making us use RR for regularly priced items. I think it is silly because it will just create more multiple transactions which is more work for them. This weekend I told them that I would play it safe and used my RR towards the Quilted Northern and did a separate transaction for the TheraFlu. I shop late at night so there isn’t much of a line. But they are going to see a lot more of this if what they say is true.

Went to Walgreens tonight for this deal:

Bought 4 Quaker Oats quick oats 18oz – on sale for $3.19 for 2 (use BOGO coupon in ad)

    So $6.38 for 4
    Less: 2 $1.25/2 coupons from 8/30 RP

Total $3.88 – but got back a $5 RR for buying $10 in quaker products. So $1.12 money maker.

Probably will donate 2 since we are having a food drive at work and I only use for cooking and baking and don’t need 4. But great for the upcoming holiday baking season!

  12. Anne

At two of the Walgreens that I frequent, I have found that if I use a RR to pay for an identical item on the next trip, it won’t spit out the RR for the (second) item. So, I guess the system is changing already….

  13. kristen

Can you shed some light on the Crest deal? I have 2 $1/1 coupons, but they don’t look like they’re on sale at my local stores. I don’t see any markdown on the shelf or anything in my ad. I asked a clerk and she said it must be a regional deal.

How can I find out if my store is running this “buy 2 at $2 each, get $2 RR?” The store I went to today also didn’t advertise the Quaker oatmeal deal, but I used the in-ad and mfr. coupons, and got an RR anyway. If it weren’t for some of these blogs, including yours!, I wouldn’t know about these.

Where can I find this stuff out?

    Thanks!

  14. Celeste

The hair dryer that’s on sale for 17.99 is not the same as the one for the $5 coupon. That one is closer to $30. The 17.99 dryer is not the infinity series.

  15. Haley

I do not see the coupon for Carmex… any suggestions???

  16. Bet

Yes, the RR policy is in effect at the stores I frequent (North Oaks, White Bear Township, and Roseville). If you pay with a register reward, you won’t get any back.

I was told that if there’s a line, they won’t do multiple transactions anymore. When I questioned the store manager about it, he wouldn’t say concretely that this was a policy, but that “we have to make choices to provide good customer service to everyone” Just not me, I guess :)

  17. Cath

Bet, are you saying that at those stores you can’t pay with ANY RR and get RRs back? I know what Anne says is true, you can’t use a RR from the same company for a RR deal and have it spit out another one. But really? You can only use RRs on non-RR-printing items?!

    Carrie:

After searching for 15 minutes for the hairdryer coupon (walgreens) I decided it just isn’t there. This happens to me quite frequently. I changed the zip code in the upper left corner to reflect mine, buy no use. Can anyone explain why this happens so frequently when I try to use the link that directs to coupon.com pages of coupons?

    Thank you.

  19. Kari

Has anyone used the pizza coupons? Do they work with this offer?

  20. Ryan

On the buy two Carmex deal were do I print the coupon? I can only register for a free drawing to win a stick…

Just curious as my GF uses this product…

    Thanks,

    -Ryan

Do you know why your comments are sticking to the bottom of the page instead of being arranged by date/time posted like everyone else? It is a little confusing!

  22. Peter

Maybe if you view the website when you are not logged in you will see it as I do, all of the comments from us are in order the order we posted them and then any messages you post are at the very bottom in the order you posted them. I see all four of your comments in a row on this post.
I do not know why it would happen either, glad I could give you a heads up though.
