I’m not sure where to post this so I’m posting it here. I’m still having trouble getting coupon inserts. Because of the issues last week with coupon inserts, I thought I should try and buy the Early Sunday edition. I went to Cub and Rainbow and found no inserts in the Star Tribune. I ended up getting a Pioneer Press paper instead. I hope other people have better luck.
Jae – I noticed there weren’t any today either. But there was a little flyer/sign that said something to the effect “This paper includes early news, advertisements, and classifieds” or something. Coupons were clearly not mentioned. I am guessing (??) that the early Sunday Strib won’t have any coupons.
I bought the Early Sunday paper yesterday. Actually two papers and there were no inserts. The paper clearly says on the front page in a blue box ” Inside: up to $210 in coupons” I purchased my papers at Byerly in East St. Paul by 3M
How many inserts are there this week sunday? The Star didn’t have any and the St Paul had one.

I’m confused too – I couldn’t find any ads in today’s (Sunday’s) star trib either! Carrie – you had mentioned something a few months ago about them not putting ads in the holiday Sunday papers – would yesterday have been considered a “holiday”??
I bought the early Sunday Star Tribune yesterday at Holiday, and it had 3 coupon inserts in it.
Who can I ‘comment’ (trying to stay positive) to? The past 2 weeks there haven’t been any coupons in my Sunday Paper. I am purchasing it at a retailer, not a subscription. The retailer said they can’t do anything… FRUSTRATED on all the $$$ that I am missing out on saving!
Tabby- I ended up buying the Early Sunday Pioneer Press and it had Smart Source, Red Plum, and Procter & Gamble. There were three inserts but the inserts looked meager.
I bought the early editiion of the trib last week and this week, and it had the coupon inserts in it both times.
Jana-I always look for the inserts in the paper before I buy it. That way if I don’t see any I can look in another one or skip it altogether.
Like Nicki mentioned in her comments above, I check the paper for the inserts before buying and the story wasn’t very good this weekend. I checked the early edition at two stores yesterday and the papers only had the PG insert so I didn’t buy them. I have one delivered on Sunday and it had all three (PG, SS, RP), but I like to have 3 copies of all. So, I went to five stores today and the papers at all five had no coupon inserts!! And to top it all off, there was no Walgreens ad in any of them including the one I have delivered. Luckily you can walk into Walgreen and get a copy. A very frustrating weekend to be sure.
I have bought the early addition and the Sunday addition at Holiday the past two weeks and have always gotten the coupon inserts. Holiday seems to be a good place to get them.
I saw a news story a couple weeks ago on Channel 9 about the Early Sunday Star Tribune, and it mentioned that it would have ads, but they didn’t say anything about that there would be coupons. I guess I am glad I subscribe to the Sunday paper. I never have had a problem getting my coupon inserts and I always save well over the amount of money I’m paying for the paper itself.
If I were those who are buying at retailers with no coupons I would take paper up by a checker or customer service and scan through to look for coupons if none I would say I do not want to buy and give to them. I would also complain to newspaper company.
Either there are no coupons or some one is stealing them.
