I have a register coupon from Cub that’s $1 off 2 Idahoan potatoes, it’s a manufacturer’s coupon, does anyone know if I can use that to double at Rainbow?? Thanks~
If the Quilted Northern Ultra Plush is included, there is a $5 rebate when you buy $15 worth of selected products. It allows multiple receipts, so you could buy 2 quilted northern in 1 transaction and 1 more in a second transaction.

Diana
i remember the add saying the Mars fun size candy price of $1.78 was limit 2…
The Mars fun size is limit 2, the 3rd bag will be 2.19. If you want to double the $1/3 coupon, it will work out to $1.25/bag for 3 bags. Not terrible.
Additionally, if you happen to have any of the $1 off 1 Pillsbury Crescent printable coupons left that were available almost a month ago (soon to expire!), 1 package of Crescents will be free (possible money maker) since they are $1.66 each this week.
And, if you have any of the $1/1 blinkie coupons for Oscar Meyer chicken strips (by the lunchmeat), they will be $1 after doubled coupon. The blinkie might still be there in case you don’t have any in your coupon stash!
Target typically has several flavors of Starbucks coffee that are cheaper than normal (I think they run about $5.49 – $5.99). You could use use the $1 off coupon and get your yummy Starbucks coffee for $4.99 or less.
I got a few $1/1 Gorton’s coupons from TheCouponClippers.com just last week. I don’t think these were available in our market at all. But I’m excited because doubling those will make the fish sticks $2.99 a box, which IS a good price, and I’ve been in the mood for fish sticks – my girls love them!
HI Carrie- Thanks for this GREAT SITE! I happened upon your site from a link at moneysavingmom.com. I live in SE WI and have been searching for a site to do coupon matchups for Pick N Save since frugalgossip.com has disappeared about a month ago.
Just wanted to let you know that the Pick N Save ads in my area run a week behind your Rainbow/Copps ads. I am able to match up with last weeks posting so it works well for me and as a bonus I can see what will be on sale the next week too!
Our stores only double coupons one day a week-Wednesday. Is it the same for you in MN?
Just a side note about coffee… I am very particular about my coffee and used to get Caribou or Starbucks beans exclusively. Since discovering Rainbow through the new SLP store, I have started using Roundy’s Organic coffee beans. Great coffee and really great price: $5.99 or less, per pound.
My experience on the soups with Roundy/PicknSave is that the Progresso soup is very selective about what is on sale. Our ad says the Traditional, Rich & Hearty (via online ad) so I’m thinking the HF coupon won’t work this week at that price. I haven’t priced the HF Progresso at all so the q alone may be worth it, but the soup won’t start at $1.25/can most likely. the prints are out according to the BC site, but that could be more about my computer than anything else.
Mary – I’m in NE Wi and my ad is similar to Carrie’s. Double Daze is on Weds for Rainbow just like it is for us at PNS. I’m a little jealous cuz you guys get a sneak peek every week on the ad and how to do the deals :).
Kashi Question–Has anyone used more than 1 Vocalpoint coupon at a time? The coupons from the Vocalpoint say “Offer limited to one coupon per purchase.”
Yes, I bought two boxes at Target this weekend using them. Paid a great price (1.25?) , but wish I’d waited for the even better Rainbow deal! Oh well, still a great cereal at an excellent price. Still have more coupons, so I’ll do both!
I used 2 of my Kashi Vocalpoint coupons last week at Rainbow with no problems.
You forgot the Mini Wheats on sale this week!
They are listed at 4 for $10 (not a good deal)
But then you add $1.50 off 2 boxes (doubled, of course) from http://www.redplum.com/
AND!
You get a free gallon of milk (Up to $2.99) on your next trip.
So your cereal ends up being $1 per box.
Angie – your $1.50 coupon for 2 mini wheats will not double. Only coupons under $1 will double. So the cereal will be $1.75 a box, but you do get free milk.
Joanna – Oops! I forgot about that. But it’s still $1.38 per box, which is pretty good.
(10-1.5-3)/4=1.375
Plus, if I’m lucky, I’ll find the boxes with the rebate codes and then I’ll get another $10 in “Bonus Bucks”
well, actually, it’s not “under” a dollar, it’s a dollar or less….
But Carrie, I think the Suave deal has a mistake… a doubled 50 cent Q would bring it down to 66 cents, right? Or is the sale price $1.16
Helen – You’re right. So much for me doing the math in my head when I put the list together. I think I better stick to the calculator, huh? :)
I was at Rainbow yesterday on a separate run and noticed the original Cheerios is not included in the GM sale. And as for Total, only the 100% whole grain kind is included, none of the “flavored” varieties were.
Just returned from my weekly trip… the soup is just the Traditional Progresso, so watch what you pick up. The other cans are marked $1.99/can and they are mixed in amongst the 8/$10 deal. My experience from doing this in the past year is that this is the lowest we will see Progresso, but you’ll see it several times every couple of weeks. Last year GM issued a coupon for $1.10 off of one can also I believe. I couldn’t print it so I’m not sure on the details, but I believe that was the value. (I shop in Wisconsin, but I think our store prices are within a dime or closer in most cases.)
I bought quite a bit of meat to get my total to what I needed, but I was very impressed with the selection of pork. I got boneless pork chops and they look very nice. (Guess that’s what’s for dinner :)….)
had a very friendly cashier today as well in my self-check line. no problem with multiple transx and she tries to stack your q’s so you get the best value doubled!
Just saw your question…. I have frozen ricotta with success when using for Lasagna. Often I mix it with the herbs, etc., for the recipe then freeze it.
Not sure about cottage cheese, but they are so close I would go for it.
Does anyone know if buying a Rainbow gift card will count towards the $25 total needed to double coupons? There have been a couple of occasions that I purchased an item or two that I didn’t really need in order to get to the $25 threshold. If I could have just gotten a $5 gift card to use on my next purchase instead, I wouldn’t have spent money I didn’t need to.
Well, the rules to the game have changed at my Rainbow – by Northtown. I was informed by my cashier that they can only do one transaction per customer now…. Not two at a time like I had been doing. So, I purchased the first transaction, parked my cart with the second transaction still in it, ran my first purchase to the car, came back, grabbed my cart and stood in the back of the line again. Had to come back in two more times to finish out the four transactions. The cashier was pretty shook up and informed me that I really should spread out my purchases among the cashiers so she wouldn’t get into trouble and lose her job. (I did, only went to her two out of the four times.)
Yes, buying a Rainbow gift card will count towards the $25. I have had to do that a couple of times too rather than buying candy I don’t need at the register!
Anne – Wow. That’s really unfortunate. I hope the managers aren’t putting that additional burden on cashiers to keep track of customers coming through the line more than once. If it’s their new policy, they should really have a big sign at the front door saying that each customer can only take advantage of the doubled coupons once. A cashier shouldn’t be worried about her job because you went through her line more than once!
Nate, I agree – she was very nervous about her job and told me perhaps five different times that they are watching the cashiers like hawks!! Not a nice situation for her.
@Anne: Very strange. I always do two transactions at my Rainbow (Maple Grove) and have never had a problem. Today, my cashier was very helpful and informed me of the minimum $25 purchase and the 5 coupons/transaction limit (both of which I already knew about, but it’s good to know that the cashiers know!).
One more thing: Is there a catalina deal going on right now with Pillsbury? I bought four crescent rolls (on sale for $1.66, used 4 $1/1 coupons) and received a $2 printout coupon for my next order from Pillsbury. I’m not sure if the coupon was linked to this deal, but I’m pretty sure that’s the only Pillsbury purchase I made.
Anne,
It’s time to invest in a cheap wig, mustache and trench coat. Have some fun with your multiple trips through the same line.
I only did one transaction today at Rainbow and I believe that’s a first. Some of my favorite cheapies were the Emerald Nuts bogo at $5.99 and I used two $1 off coupons which doubled bringing 2 cans of cashews down to $1.99 for 2. Same deal with bogo Jose Ole Quesadillas.
Pert Shampoo is on sale for $2.99 a bottle at Rainbow this week – used $1.00 coupon for the Men’s Pert shampoo – after doubling I paid .99cents for that Pert AND you can log on to http://www.trypertfree.com and print out a rebate form to submit – makes it WAY better than FREE!!
make sure to get the bottle of pert that has the sticker on it that says http://www.trypertfree.com you will need that for the rebate along with the upc code and receipt of purchase.
Nothing worth buying for me. I already have plenty of yogurt and I don’t get cereal for more than $1.00 and it’s usually less than that.
I forgot I had one of those $1 off any purchase catalinas in my purse and today was the last day I could use it. Remembered about it out in the car parking lot and went back in the store. I asked the cashier about it, could I still get my money for it, and she was glad to give me my $1. Too bad, though, because I could have gotten it doubled today if I had remembered about it prior to doing my transaction..
I got 2 4 packs of the Activia vanilla flavor for free and a free 32 oz of plain Dannon, which I will stir some fruit into. My son, who is autistic and can be food-picky, only likes the vanilla Activia. He won’t eat the Activia with fruit flavors. It’s nice that you can get some free yogurt on a regular basis by watching the sales and using coupons! Now I can’t make myself “pay” for yogurt anymore.
You do have to be so careful with the Progresso soup sale this week. I spent a lot of time choosing 3 cans because they were out of many of the sale varieties. In spite of being so careful to get only the ones on sale, two of them rang up at $2.59 and I didn’t catch them until I got home. I know I got them from the marked “row”, so either Rainbow’s cash register messed up or more likely, a customer put them in the wrong spot. After all that, I got my Sun-Sailer with a Byerlys ad. Many varieties of their Progresso soups are on sale starting tomorrow for $1.10 per can! I will probably return the 3 cans I bought at Rainbow, but now I wonder if I can get another $1.10 off 3 cans coupon!!!
Does anyone know how much the Kashi cereal is that is on sale buy 2 get 1 free? I still plan to head out tonight.
Well, I was disappointed at the Cottage Grove Rainbow tonight. For the first time the cashier told me she could not double coupons unless the out of pocket is more than $25. I told her the new policy has cost them my business. I just don’t see how doubling makes alot of sense if I have to shell out $25/5 coupons. It’s frustrating to work so hard at this and not have it pay off like it should.
Did my shopping tonight at Maplewood Rainbow. I had a very coupon scrutinizing cashier. He told me I could not use a mfg. coupon that was printed at Cub. I told him that it only says “redeemable at Cub” not that you have to use it there. He then scanned it and it worked. Surprise, Surprise. He also eyed every coupon and checked to make sure I had the exact products. This took a while because I did have 5 transactions which they do let you do at this store. I am very organized and the transactions run smoothly-usually.
Then, I tried to use the $5 Zantac coupon on a box that cost $4.69 and he had to get help and the manager said I could not use the coupon on anything less than $5. I asked if they could bring the coupon down to match the price and she said no. Anyone else been able to use this coupon?
