Who wants free-after-rebate printer this week? Me! Me! Office Max is running a number of great free-after-rebate promotions this week (see ad here), including 10 reams of copy paper, but they’re only available for MaxPerks members. MaxPerks is a free rewards program open to those that buy supplies for a business or teachers (Home schoolers qualify as teachers) buying for a classroom. I just signed Pocket Your Dollars up for an account here and was done in less than 2 minutes.

Since this is the first time I am introducing OfficeMax MaxPerks, let me take a minute and share a few more details. Your account will be credited with MaxPerks at the time of purchase, but the credit will show as “pending” for seven days. If you return an item that generated MaxPerks, the credit will be removed from your account. Items like these that generate MaxPerks Bonus Rewards are only available while supplies last. Call your store ahead of time to be sure they still have some in stock.
Your turn: Have you been a MaxPerks member for awhile? What has your experience been like?

Hi Carrie,
I’ve just signed up, and read the “fine print”. I didn’t see how the above items would be free. How do the MaxPerks Bonus Rewards come? As part of the $75 required for the $10 off? Or is there an extra rebate form to fill out? Or will they automatically send it as a credit similar to the $10 once it is earned? Got any answers?
Thanks so much for this site! It has sooooo helped me keep dollars in my pocket and I like that!
Anne – Look at the store’s weekly ad to see these offered as free-after-MaxPerks items this week. I’ll update the post to include that link too.
As a home-educating parent I qualify as a teacher. I have had MaxPerks for about two years. I have found it to be well worth having! I don’t buy that much from Office Max since I normally can find better deals elsewhere, but when I do purchase items there the rewards add up quite quickly.
Every year we give all the grandparents calendars that we have printed at Office Max. They do a great job, they have great prices on the calendars, and I earn rewards back! I usually save my reward certificate to help buy tax software at a when it goes on sale. Then the next reward coupon I earn goes towards something for school. It works out nicely. Actually, they just changed the program a little and now your “points” roll so you don’t lose them if you don’t purchase enough that quarter.
Keep in mind this program is only for teachers and business owners. If you are one or the other this is a great deal; however if you are not, it’s never a good idea to lie to get a deal.
…i’m not getting how you get the printer for free?? Help me understand, please! I’m very frustrated with my printer and would LOVE to get one for FREE.
Lady Hatt – It is paper for a printer that’s free, not a printer. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the clarification…I was just confused by the intro line (“Who wants free-after-rebate printer this week? Me! Me!” ).
I signed up for the business account. Looks like you need to spend $500 to get $25 free?? Am I reading this right? We have a very small business, and probably don’t spend $500 in 90 days. It may not be a good deal if you don’t plan to spend $500 in 90 days. Maybe I am confused??!!
I personally have had awful experience getting them to even mail me my card….still haven’t got it after 6 months…finally after dozens of calls got them to credit my points i have earned from toner cartridges and other points. I am probably just one case out of many great experiences, but just to let you know…not real efficient.
My question is where did you see that the reward would be posted to your Perks card in 7 days? The Office Max site says, “Bonus Rewards will be issued in the next statement cycle. ” and the Perks rewards work on a quarterly cycle (4th quarter cycle is 10/1-12/31) and rewards earned are usually available to be used around 1/31. So, the rewards earned on these purchases will likely not be available for 3 months. If you can afford to wait that long to use your reward, then this is a great deal!
It’s a decent program, but you really have to be “on top” of them to make sure they give the bonus rewards you’ve earned. And don’t count on the staff at an OfficeMax store to know all the ins and outs of the MaxPerks program. Lots of fine print that you and store staff may overlook.
