Carrie’s Picks 10/18/09

coupons

There are two inserts in today’s paper, a Red Plum and a Smart Source.  I have highlighted my picks of which coupons will likely result in a freebie or a rock bottom price.  These are based on the Minneapolis paper and other papers may have different coupons and different coupon amounts.  You can see all my previous picks here.

If you want more copies of these coupons there are a couple options. Get more copies of the inserts from friends, neighbors, co-workers, leftovers at coffee shops or libraries or a whole paper for $1 at most Dollar Tree stores (locations here). You can also order the specific coupons you want from The Coupon Clippers.

Your turn: Which coupons do you think will turn into a freebie or rock bottom-priced item?

Everyday, Regular Priced Items

Buy the following products with a coupon from this weekend’s paper at their everyday price and you’ll get a great deal or maybe even a freebie.

Birdseye Steamfresh Meals. This week’s buy one, get one free coupon can be stacked with the $1.50 from 9/13 Smart Source #2 insert for an even better deal. (Smart Source)

Cesar Bistro. There is still a manufacturer-issued buy one, get one free coupon printable coupon available that matched with this Target-issued coupon will result in two cans free. (Red Plum)

Marcal Paper Products. “Try me free” coupon. Find a store that carries Marcal products near you (In the Twin Cities they are carried at Rainbow Foods and Kmart stores). I used the last coupon like this for its $1 value, had it doubled and picked up a regular-priced package of 200 napkins for $0.29.

Playskool Toys. Hopefully the trend of having coupons for toys will continue through the holidays. (Smart Source)

Trident Layers Gum. Buy one, get one free. (Smart Source)

Yakisoba. This Ramen-like product can’t be priced much more than $1 at most stores and would be half-priced with this $0.50/1. (Smart Source)

Sale Priced Items

If these products go on sale before the coupon expires you will get a rock bottom price or maybe even a freebie. Peruse the coupons on the “coupons doubled in value” list below as well, since they could be included here too.

Hershey’s Candy. Use this “Buy 3 bags, get one free” this week at CVS for a great deal on Halloween candy down. (Smart Source)

Nestle or Wonka Candy. Use this $1/2 this week at CVS for a great deal on Halloween candy down. (Red Plum)

Reach Dental Floss. Matched with the right sale floss should be $0.50 or less. (Red Plum)

Revlon Beauty Tool. In years past I have used this $1/1 to get tweezers and nail files free with the right sale price at Walgreens or CVS. They haven’t that sale lately, but I *hope* to see it before Christmas.

Starbucks Ground Coffee / Coffee Beans. $1/1 is a great coupon for coffee. (Smart Source)

Sure Deodorant. This $1.50/1 is reason enough for me to get an extra copy of the paper this week. Even this week at Walgreens it turns into free deodorant and likely will again. (Smart Source)

Coupons Doubled in Value

If you can shop at a store where the value of your coupon is doubled and these products go on sale before the coupon expires, then you will likely get a freebie or something close to it. In the Twin Cities Rainbow Foods is the only store I know of that regularly doubles coupons; check out their coupon policies here.

Breyers Ice Cream. Two of these $0.75/1 doubled at the same time ice cream goes on sale buy one, get one free could mean a quart of ice cream for as low as $0.50. (Red Plum)

Gain Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener. Each has a $1/1 off, which will likely make for some great deals. (Red Plum)

Healthy Choice Soups. These often sell for $1 and would be just $0.25 after this $.75/2 is doubled in value. (Smart Source)

Pert Plus. Frequently I get free Pert Plus with a $1/1 doubled in value and then give it to my church’s food shelf. (Smart Source)

Red Baron Singles. Hopefully we’ll get this free after the $1/1 coupons. (Smart Source)

Smart Balance. Yay! I LOVE these $1/1 coupons that Smart Balance runs a couple times every winter. Everything that has a coupon – butter spread, peanut butter and cooking spray – will all likely be free or just pennies at some point when these $1/1 coupons can be doubled. (Red Plum)

Eating Out/Recreation

Buca. $10 off $20 purchase. Expires 11/15. (Red Plum)

Coldstone. Various coupons. (Smart Source)

Toys R Us has bags of Hersheys candy on sale this week for half price. Combined with the buy 3 get 1 free coupon, I was able to get 4 bags of candy (2 KitKat & 2 Reeses PB Cups) for $5.74.
