Baby Einstein DVD Guarantee: Return or Exchange Used DVDs

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

baby einstein

If you bought a Baby Einstein DVD June 5, 2004 and September 9, 2009 you are eligible for the Baby Einstein DVD Guarantee program.  If you are not satisfied with the DVD or disappointed in the claim that it increases intelligence, then you can:

Exchange the DVD in its case for a Baby Einstein book or music CD or

Return the DVD and this completed form for a full refund of $15.99 (limit 4 per household)

Program runs through March 4, 2010.  You don’t need to have the original purchase receipt, just the DVD and the case (if possible).  Read full details for both returns and exchanges here.

Do you wonder what’s prompting the program?  This NY Times article says Baby Einstein got into some hot water by claiming their DVDs improve baby’s intelligence, while the Academy of Pediatrics doesn’t recommend any screen time for kids under the age of 2.  To avoid a class action lawsuit, Baby Einstein has implemented this DVD Guarantee program.

Your turn: Are you going to return or exchange your Baby Einstein DVDs?

Has anyone done this and actually gotten their money back?

  2. Carrie – WOW, that is crazy! Thanks for the info and I will link you!

  3. Brenda says:

I think I’ll give it a try… they are just gathering dust in our closet, since my kids aren’t interested… I just dropped them a line asking if I can send 4 in one package or if I need to mail them individually.

  4. Jennifer says:

Here is the link for the paperwork you need to fill out for the DVD return.

  5. Christy Abrams says:

My Daughter Norah loves her Baby Einstein DVD’s, and I always felt positive sharing them with her. I for one feel she has been intellectually enriched and stimulated by the numerous times we have danced, laughed and played along with Baby Einstein. So, I do not plan to return them for money-but I’ll pass them on to my new Grand Nephew for further enjoyment

  6. John Backler says:

Christy sounds like you got your money’s worth from the dvds. Glad
you are not returning them. Maybe they don’t increase IQ (what does?)
but in conjunction with the baby einstein toys and puppets they make
a wonderful learning and, oh yea….fun experience for any baby or
    toddler in my opinion.

  7. Eileen says:

I’m not sure why I have to pay for shipping ($5 in my case fr: NY to WI). I would be getting a refund of $15 but after paying shipping it will only be a $10 refund. We should be able to return the DVD’s in any Disney store for a full refund.

  8. Ava Taylor says:

No, I won’t return them, my kids love it. It might not have educational value, yet it’s pretty entertaining.
