CVS Shopping List 9/20 – 9/26/09

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Although I don’t see many great sales this week, keep your eyes peeled for these two things:

$100 in CVS coupons. The ad references a $100 coupon book when you get a flu shot, but the fine print reads “no purchase necessary.”  Ask for the coupon book at your pharmacy as it is full of coupons that likely can be stacked with manufacturer-issued ones. Expires 12/31/09.

$15 Extra Care Bucks for taking survey. I have heard reports that some folks got an email survey from CVS with the subject line “We would like your opinion” and after they completed the survey they could print $15 Extra Care Bucks.

If you are new to CVS’s loyalty program and to Extra Care Bucks, I explain in detail here.  Learn to read this shopping list here. Crystal, the Thrifty Mama, helped get this list started and I added to it based on the best deals I found in the forums at A Full Cup

  1. Michelle says:

I’ve been noticing recently that I’m not getting some of the coupons that are mentioned in these coupon matchups, like the Johnson’s baby products coupon and the Schick razor coupon and a number of others. I live right in the Twin Cities metro area and get the Pioneer Press every week from CVS. Is anyone else having this problem? (I thought I read somewhere that the Pioneer Press doesn’t have as “good” of coupons as the Star Trib? What’s the scoop on this?)

  2. You will only receive the coupon book when you visit the minute clinic located inside selected CVS stores…time for your flu shot anyone?

  3. Tiff says:

I got the $100 coupon book, and unfortunately they are manufacturer’s coupons only good at CVS….

  4. Tiff says:

    Michelle,
The Pioneer Press doesn’t usually get all of the coupons that Star Trib gets…

  5. Hilary says:

the coupons in the book state “manufacturer-funded coupon” and their barcode starts with a 4 which indicates a CVS coupon. I am sure these are like the Walgreens monthly savings booklet which also is manufacture funded and can be used with manufacture coupons.

btw i used the $1 off kleenex in the coupon book to buy the boxes that are on sale this week for 96 cents to get free regular size boxes of tissues.

  6. Anita says:

Michelle- also you are more likely to get shorted on the coupon inserts or even certain ads when you purchase newspaper off the rack.

  7. Karla says:

I see Walmart has the Honey Bunches of Oats cereal on sale this week for $2.00 a box, use the coupon for $2 and its free.

  8. Cathie says:

I get both the pioneer press and the star tribune delivered to my home on Sunday. And the coupon inserts are better in the star tribune. I told the sales lady I purchased the Pioneer Press from at Rainbow Foods Eagan in August I thought the coupons were better and more in the Star Tribune. She told me the Pioneer Press had better coupons & more than the Star Tribune- this has not been true for the past month. Lesson learned – the newspaper sales people don’t know about the true differences between coupon inserts in the Sunday papers.

  9. Anita says:

CVS has back to school supplies 75% off. A few things are 50%. I scored on mechanical erasers (the kind that look like pens), folders (the otherwise exspensive fancy kind), notepads (from $1 area), small notebooks($1 area), off brand post-it’s. My girls bdays are in august so I like to give out school supplies in the goody bag.
Also, the manager told me to keep checking the next few weeks as they will be turning over merchandise. They have to clear everything out to make way for holidays.

  10. SarahBB says:

I vaguely remember seeing some Dunkin Do-nut coffee Q’s awhile back anyone know which insert, when? I have a GC @CVS and will buy coffee there. Thx!

  11. SarahBB says:

Good Cover Girl and Olay deal this week (see flyer) buy one of ea and get $10 ECB for Olay product and $5 ECB for CG product– also found 2 man. Q’s for CG product and Olay product for $2 in savings AND used the $5 ECB reward for doing flu survey–great deal!

  12. SarahBB says:

Oops, forgot to say also found an Q for buy any CG foundation, get CG facial item free– so actually used 3 manufacturer Q’s w/CVS flyer ECB special! However, my Eagan CVS did not ring up this Olay/CG special and I had to take original CVS ad to manager to get the $10– it did ring up $5 ECB CG rewards however.
