I already did the rebate so just get to have cheap food.
Do you ever make up the grocery lists for use at either Walmart or Coborn’s? I love this idea to save money. I haven’t tried it yet but I am going to start.
anita send the rebate to your mom or other relative. why not?
Does Cub take expired coupons? My Hormel from 5/17 SmartSource expired July/Aug. Thanks for info!
Katy – Yes, Cub takes expired coupons up to 3 months after their expiration date. Some locations accept them beyond that. I’ll add that tidbit to the main post.
Is the Kellogg’s deal $25 before or after coupons? I thought Carrie said Cub changed the policy to after coupons; but this week it is not printed in the ad or on the coupon.
Jean – It is before coupons. Follow this: 1) there is no mention of anything different in this week’s ad, 2) last week the money off was sponsored/paid for by Procter & Gamble, who also pays for the coupons. That is why they (Procter & Gamble) wanted the total to be after coupons, 3) this offer is through a Cub-issued coupon (see the language on the top of the coupon), which Cub pays for whereas the manufacturer pays for the other coupons so Cub doesn’t mind it being before coupons. Make sense?
Carrie, thanks for explaining the Kellogg’s deal.
Just an FYI on the Kellogg’s Deal -
Rainbow will be running this same promo in October and then
you can double coupons on a Wednesday to make this an even better deal –
so you may wish to wait with your coupons if you only have a limited amount
JC – the rebate deal ends 9/30. So if people want to do the rebate, this is probably your last chance! I’ve got a bunch of expireds that I will be using, plus some of those buy X get $2 off X too! Thanks for the heads up for Rainbow though.
Wow, fabulous on the exp coupons @ Cub! I didn’t know that. Thanks for explanations!
I will be piggybacking coupons that were in a booklet featuring Kellogg products ($2 off x wyb 2 of these products) with my $1/1 or $1/2 that I have from various sources. I would have a lower total if I stayed to the $1/1 cereal coupons, BUT I don’t need any more cereal!! I have way too much from prior sales and it makes sense to pick other products for my stockpile.
I will pick up 2 cookies, 2 rice krispie treats, 2 sandwich crackers, 2 mini-wheats, 2 nutra-grain bars.. trying to stockpile bag lunch treats.. OOP will be $10 or less for 10 products PLUS gallon of milk, small bag of coffee, bread, $2 in fruit, and craisans (price check?? hoping it’s free or very cheap after the $2 off)
Also, last week inserts $1/1 Dole Sugar Free Gel cups — these will work on the ongoing $2 sale in the ad this week. I had a $1/1 printable … not sure where I found it, now expired.
Last week there was a tag on the shelf stating Buy 3 get $1 on your next order (catalina).
Little price mix up I noticed…
Soup at Hand $1.25
Friskies Selects Indoor Cat Food $0.80
And YES keep those expired coupons!
Metro area locations allow up to 3 months expired (EP up to 5 months); however, St Cloud locations do NOT take expireds. When in doubt, ask at guest service desk or call ahead.
Keeping my expired coupons helps me save 40- 50% on average with minimal planning. In the past, I saved 70% to 80% when I actively searched out high value expireds wine tags and free item coupons on trading boards. Overdid on turkey wine tags one year.. Turkey bacon, turkey hot dogs, ground turkey, turkey pepperoni, deli turkey, turkey parts, canned turkey, frozen dinner with turkey… we were sooooo sick of eating turkey after awhile. LOL
It didn’t look like the Special K Crackers and Cinnabon Bars were on the rebate. Has anyone received a rebate using these products? Thanks a lot.
Aira – Oh my goodness! I went from my memory and didn’t check the list. Good catch! I have updated the deal scenarios to include the qualifying products and labeled the Cub sales items as either rebate qualifying or not, so there is no additional confusion. Sorry about that.
I cannot get the Pop Tarts coupon to print. It keeps giving me the “Install the Coupon Printer” prompt. There is no $ to replace in the URL and I have tried on multiple computers to get it to print to no avail. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me? Any other ideas Carrie?
“A nuance with Cub is that they accept manufacturer-issued coupons up to 3 months beyond their expiration date”
This is great to know, I never knew that! Thank you for the lists/coupon match ups, it really helps maximize my shopping dollars. After reading frugal blogs with all the awesome Kroger sales it is awesome to finally have someone in this area giving me information I can actually use. PLEASE keep up the good work!! :)
I bought the 10 items with the coupon plus I was able to use $5 in coupons. So each item was $1. They gave me the $10 off my order so I only had to pay $10. I was going to use Carrie’s suggestion to separate your orders and use the $10 off right away. But I didn’t have too. Thanks!
I bought the cantaloupe too!
I actually used the Kellogg’s rebate early so when I had sufficient purchases to get ANOTHER rebate, I had the rebate sent to a non-profit preschool. (I called the preschool director to let her know it was on the way so she didn’t accidentally discard the check)
Isn’t combining $ off or free X/Y/Z wyb X/Y/Z q’s with $ off X/Y/Z q’s superstacking? (Or B2 X/Y and G1 Z (or an additional X/Y) free, etc. when combined with $ off q’s for X/Y/Z). I have tried it to see if the q’s beep and they beeped each time, so I no longer do it.
Possibly this depends on the manuf? I would hate for Cub to not get reimbursed by the manuf because the q’s were not redeemed legitimately b/c that is what leads to retailers not accepting q’s at all.
The other day I found a q for 1/bananas wyb Sara Lee bagels, and I was wondering if it would be superstacking to use a q for the bagels as well. (I didn’t have one, but I was curious about it.) Another time I had a q for $ off a bag of chips, and then one for free dip wyb the chips. Or would it just be superstacking if you got $ off the dip? Both or neither?
I hope that sort of makes sense.
Jodi – The $10 off coupon for this week’s offer is a Cub-issued coupon so it is not tied to the manufacturer at all, which is why I don’t think it is using too many coupons. The $10 off is Cub-issued (and Cub paid for) and the “regular” coupons are manufacturer-issued so no one is paying more than they want. Make sense?
Has anyone used the manufacture coupons that have been in prior Cub coupons after the expiration date? i.e. The coke products coupon where you buy five 12 packs for $1.48 each?
Do not forget about the $1/1 Keebler Fudge Shoppe cookie coupon available here
http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qiiobpe63165365&bt=wg&o=58418%7E58403&c=TM&p=Kt0FJE3O
Jodi..I think the registers beep sometimes because the cashiers need to enter amount of coupons. They don;t always scan at right amount espec. when you have buy x get y free… Hope that helps.
Also most of the buy 2 of y get free store band X types are coded as 992 or 000 in the UPC bar code of the coupon, the cash registers are set to beep on those for cashiers to verify purchases and enter the dollar amount. Piggybacking / stacking (using B1G1 combined with a $1/1, etc) and using a coupon based on the bar code versus the wording ($1 off wyb one large size or two smaller size, coded as buy one) is a gray area in coupon ethics.
I cannot find the Keebler cookies coupon. When I go to the link it isn’t on the coupons.com website. I also clicked on Peter’s link and couldn’t find them. I found the Keebler Sandwich coupon, but not the cookies. Am I blind or is it really not there?? Any help???
I am having problems printing the Keebler Cookies coupon. I cannot find it at all on coupons.com. Is anyone else having trouble? Maybe I am just blind, but I cannot find it on when I click on the links above or Peter’s link 3 posts above. Help!!!
I was bummed I never found that other fuel for school booklet. But I stocked up on snacks/treats for school/after school and paid $0.80 for each item.
forgot to mention that my CUB had a 20ct solo napkins for $0.33. It was in with regular paper eisle but in a special rack off to the side.
The 9/25 All You Magazine has a $2.00/3 coupon for Lean Cuisine.
Thanks for the match ups.
I actually have 10 $1./1 q’s to use for this deal which will make it a $5.MM for me after the $10 rewards card (not rebate) for me. These come with the calendar from the original rebate. You can do 8 of them between now and 8/31/10 per household address. I haven’t received my calendar yet, however, was able to trade for these.
Has anyone else received their calendar yet? Were these in there?
The link from my post above works for me on firefox, you might need to change the “wg” in the address to get it working on internet explorer? Check Carrie’s post on problems printing internet coupons here:
http://www.pocketyourdollars.com/2009/07/problems-printing-coupons-online/
I have been printing these out every time I am near a new computer because they do not expire until 12/1/09.
I get an error for the keebler coupon and I am in firefox. I says to try back in a few minutes but I get the same message.
Does anyone know if the Apple Jacks Fiber cereal count for the $10 off next Grocery order?
At my Cub today, (Shorewood) there were $2 peelies on Sunshine Cheez-It crackers. I don’t think they count toward the $10 Cub coupon but they do count for the Kelloggs $10 rebate. Crackers are on sale for $2.50/each. Also, frozen Chiquita Smoothie mix was on sale for $1.69 and I used $1 coupon.
Why does it keep saying it has to “install” for my coupon to print when it has been done ALOT!!…I try and it says it over and over? Does anyone know…
I just noticed that Jennifer, on Sept 21st, was having the same problem…it’s been on several different items for me. (see my previous question) :) Happy couponing everybody
Robin
Can you tell me more about the rewards card…is it a cub or Kelloggs offer?
Sent in my Kellogg’s Rebate postmarked before the end date and received my mailing back that the PO Box was closed! Anyone else having this problem?
