Sign up for Southwest Airlines’ Rapid Rewards program here (their frequent flyer program), provide your email address and request email updates and you will get 8 credits (or half of what you need) 6 credits toward a free flight (a free flight takes 16 credits). You earn 2 points per flight, so after four five more flights, you’ll have a free ticket.

Lynette emailed me saying, “I try to fly only Southwest Airlines & have many times. Their staff is the best & unlike most airlines, you can reschedule flights without being charged. In fact one time I rescheduled a fight & got money back to use towards a future flight. But the best part is that if you need to cancel a flight for any reason you have a year to use that money toward a future flight. The only thing some people do not like is that you do not get assigned seats. You get put into groups A,B or C according to the time you check in. Group A gets to board first & you gets to pick your seats as you get on, so the sooner you board the better seats you get.”
