Looks like a great week to stock up things at Rainbow and to consider buying your groceries in more than one transaction. Please, though, be considerate to those around you and only do two at a time before you go back to your car to drop a load and re-enter the store.
Start here if you are new to this and have questions about how to get your coupons to double in value at Rainbow. Learn to read this shopping list here.

Buy 8 General Mills cereals, get $10 off your current order and 2 coupons for $3.50 a future order that contains milk
Last time they ran this deal I decided I could do it for infinity even without any coupons, because it is such a good deal considering the $17 in incentives you get for buying 8 boxes. If you bought boxes priced right around $2 you’d get them all free, without coupons. In fact, it was this deal that caused Rainbow to owe me 42 cents one week.
There are so many General Mills coupons out right now that I won’t list each individual one, but tell you to check these sites:

Listen up: This $5 off coupon says at the top “Manufacturer’s coupon” which means that I don’t think you can stack it with any other manufacturer’s coupons for qualifying products, like the $1 off Quilted Northern coupon for instance. Personally, I think you’d be better off using individual coupons for the products.

Carrie- Could you please list what you are planning on buying for the General Mills deal? I like it when I have a sample scenerio to go off of. Thanks!
Will do, but it won’t be until Tuesday evening. If other folks have scenarios, please post them.
Thanks Carrie for the great list! I didn’t see the 85% ground beef on your list — on sale for $1.99. It might have been there and I just missed it. This is the best price I can find on gr beef, so I plan to stock up as well. It looks like an awesome week at Rainbow!
I noticed on the Yopliat Yo+ printable coupons that “Do not double or triple” is on it. Does anyone know if Rainbow will still double these?
I never have any problems with my Rainbow doubling those coupons that list “Do not double or triple”. Once clerk once commented that they would not double them, but the register did it anyway. I don’t know that the register can read!!!
I can’t find the .75/1 Taco Bell dinner kits coupon anywhere! Anyone know where I can find it?
I clicked on the ‘get the coupon here” to get an Annie’s mac and cheese coupon, but that coupon was not in the line-up. Is there another way to get one?
General Mills Deal:
2 Lucky Charms – $1.00/2 from paper (not sure which one or when)
2 Cinnamon Toast Crunch – $1.00/2 from paper (not sure which one or when)
2 Honey Nut Cheerios – $1.00/2 from paper (not sure which one or when)
2 Cookie Crisp – $1.00/2 printed from coupons.com
Estimating High, the boxes sell for about $3.50 each…
$3.50 x 8 = $28.00
4, $1.00 coupons doubled = -$8.00
=$20.00 – $10.00 off groceries – $6.50 in milk perks = $3.50 for 8 boxes of cereal
taco bell dinner kits coupon and annie’s mac and cheese coupon are both gone.
I think it depends on the cashier at Rainbow. They are not supposed to double them (I asked at the Service Counter), but if the cashier doesn’t notice or let’s it slide – it’s doubled. I have had one cashier that would not double my coupons that said not to. I shop at the Rainbow in Forest Lake.
when i print my online coupons, everything prints except for the dollar/cent amount of the coupon. i don’t think i can use this. anyone know what this is about?
The “Best” General Mills deal is really going to depend on which cereals have the lowest Regular price. Without scoping out your Rainbow ahead of time it would be hard to know.
Remember you can print coupons for all 8 boxes but only the first 5 coupons are doubled at Rainbow so give them the 5 highest value ones first and give them the lowest 3 last and those will ring up at the face value.
The best coupon (highest value) out there that I am aware of is
$0.75 off one box of any variety of Kix – so print as many as you can or as many as you want to stock! (www.boxtops4education.com/Coupons/) The first 5 will be doubled.
Personally, I still have coupons for the below items that I printed before the internet coupons renewed on 08/01 – not sure if you saved them or not but here are “my” options:
$0.75 off one MultiGrain Cheerios
$0.75 off one Banana Nut Cheerios
$0.75 off one box of Total (any variety)
$0.50 off one Flavored Cheerios
$0.55 off one Cheerios in the Yellow Box
Second best coupons that I found available NOW in case you don’t like those choices or didn’t print them to save:
$0.55 off one Trix (www.boxtops4education.com/Coupons/)
$0.55 off one Honey Nut Cheerios (www.boxtops4education.com/Coupons/)
$0.55 off one “Kids” cereal (Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms, Cin Toast Cruch)
http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qgbwcho51084770&bt=vi&o=57174&c=GM&p=M7Zoxktf
In my opinion, a last resort is the $1.00 off two coupons that are floating around.
So if you have 8 coupons for $0.75 off one box the most you will be able to save is $9.75 in coupons – plus the $10 instant – plus the $7 in catalinas.
It is very unlikely that you will find the International Delights Coffee House creamers in the store because the warehouse is out of them. The soonest they will be in stock is Thursday, but this is still very unlikely. Ask for a raincheck at the service counter.
The cornish hens in the BOGO ad look like the whole fryers, but the coupon is for a package of split hens. Has anyone tried to use these deals together?
Oops, another question: when Rainbow has a BOGO sale, do the prices of both the purchased item and the free item count towards the $25 doubling threshold?
I had a nice surprise when I purchased Keebler cookies recently , they must be having a sweepstake, as I won a $10 Discover card, fell out of pkg as I threw away~ used it later that day!
I am not finding the Arm & Hammer laundry detergent coupon. There are several others. Am I missing something or looking in the wrong place?
Is anyone else having trouble finding the arm and hammer laundry detergent coupon? I am hoping it hasn’t disappeared!
I went to Rainbow tonight to scope out the prices for the General Mills cereal. More varieties are part of the deal than what they listed. You can also “choose” your size of box. The smaller ones are around $3 and the larger ones are up to $5 something. Just in case anyone wanted to know how much they are at regular price.
I noticed at our Rainbow in Brooklyn Park they do not have the Honey Bunches of Oats with Pecans. If you are planning on using that coupon, you might want to do another trip first so you know if your store carries it or not.
If you go to the Muir Glen website and join the connoisseur club you’ll be given a link for $1/1 any product. Doubled that means free Organic canned tomatos!
All my Internet coupons state do not double. Should I try to double those 1st & see if they work?
Some of the coupons just stay in queue on my printer and won’t print… (ronzoni, coupons.com…) I printed some before. Did this happen to anyone? Did anyone print the ronzoni pasta, tonight, or someone else is having problems with the printing?
Sarah-
When you go to theTyson site for coupons – click on the picture on the right of the Cornish Game Hen without Giblets. That is the coupon to use with the Rainbow ad.
HTH
As for the doubling of coupons when it states DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE
If you do not get a cashier that strictly enforces this by overriding the system., coupon coding is as follows:
If a coupon begins with a number 5 – it will double
If a coupon begins with the number 9 – it will NOT double
I didn’t list my cereal deals like I said I would because everyone else took care of it. Thanks everybody! I appreciate the help (a lot!)
I can only find the coupon for split cornish game hens as well. I have visited multiple sites and all links lead to the split hens, not the whole fryers w/o giblets.
Go to Carries link above or here: http://www.tyson.com/Consumer/Products/Featured/ViewCollection.aspx?imageId=1852&collectionId=9
DO NOT click where it says “click here for your free $1 coupon”
Instead scroll down and you will see three pictures
Rene & Tonya – there are Old El Paso coupons on the Betty Crocker website – .60/2
I see the three pictures, but when I click on any one of them, it takes me to Cooking Instructions.
Me too. JC must just be the lucky one!
Also, I think the Arm&Hammer laundry detergent coupon has hit its max. I can’t find it anymore either.
I still can’t get the cornish game hens coupon. Could someone please explain it really well. Thank you.
Sorry it worked yesterday – seems like it is either got a bug and not workng OR they took it down
BOGO – I called the store this morning to inquire if the cost of both products is included to get to $25. Only the cost of one is included.
Kae – The store is wrong about the B1G1. The shelf price of both counts toward the doubling. The register automatically does it so it isn’t a matter of the clerk’s choice or opinion. It has always worked that way for me and I am planning my shopping list based on the price of both items counting toward the $25. –Carrie
When Kellogg’s started the Fuel for School rebate Rainbow had some Kellogg and Keebler coupons by the front door. They have a coupon Save $2.00 on milk when you buy 2 Keebler cookies. So double the Kellogg coupon $1.00 off two KEEBLER, Rainbow B1G1 and $2.00 off milk (milk is $1.68 a gallon) $2.49 for all three.
I have the same question as Sarah – when Rainbow has a BOGO sale, do the prices of both the purchased item and the free item count towards the $25 doubling threshold?
yeah it counts the bogo price of both items.
here is what one of my orders was today
2 keebler cookies @3.49 ea bogo
4 ronzoni pasta boxes @1.89 ea bogo
3 cans muir glen tomatoes @2.00 ea
3 packs of taco seasoning @.33 ea
2 minute maid lemonades @1.00 ea
1 brownberry buns @ 2.50
this equals 26.03
i had
1.00 off 2 keebler dbl
1.00 off 2 muir glen dbl
1.00 off 1 muir glen dbl
1.00 off ronzoni dbl
1.00 off ronzoni dbl
.10 bag refund
i paid $8.80 for this order
i also had another transaction with the cornish hens, international delights, organic valley milk, and digiorno pizza all double.
BTW GROUND BEEF WAS ON SALE AT THE WOODBURY RAINBOW FOR 99 CENTS LB
i hope this helps someone
I just had a very frustrating trip to Rainbow. The one in Oakdale was out of the Blue Bunny ice cream, the Playtex gloves and the Reynolds recyled aluminum foil. I did pick up rainchecks, but I have my lists very specifically planned out and when they don’t have something, it really throws me. I learned early on to plan some alternates just in case though. Oh well we all have a few bad experiences along the way. I feel better now that I vented. :)
FYI on the Tyson Conish hens, I used the “split breast” coupon last time for the individual whole hen and they took it and I talked to a friend today who did the same thing this morning. Just print that coupon and it should be fine.
This may be a dumb question but I am doing the cereal deal. If I have a coupon for $1 off of two boxes…and I purchase two boxes can I use two coupons?
I was at Rainbow this morning in Maple Grove and my BOGO items were only counted as one towards the $25. Luckily I had enough other stuff to make it to $25. I was also questioned by the cashier if my internet coupons were fraudulent coupons. She was rude about it and said that she sees a lot of fake coupons. She kept asking where the water seals were on the printed coupons !!?!? It was q
Whoops! I meant to finish that…
It was quite the experience today.
I am trying to love Rainbow on Wed. for the double coupon day. I must admit that I am frustrated with the store in BP. First the misinformation that was addressed earlier – thank you Carrie for clarifying. Second, when I went to check out today with just the cereal, the clerk told me she could not double my coupons because my total was not over $25. When the $10 was taken off, the total was $16. New to the process, I picked up my items and went to get some of the other items I had on my list. If I am understanding what is written above, it should have worked, because my retail value was over $25. Am I correct????
Kae – As weird as this sounds, I don’t believe the cashier when they tell me my coupons won’t double. Since I know that the register automatically does it at the “magic number” without cashier intervention I simply say, “I see. Well, let’s just try one and see” and when the shelf price total is higher than $25 they double. I believe that the cashiers sincerely believe that it is $25 after sale prices, but it isn’t (except for when they change the “shelf” price to reflect the sale price. That happened to me once). Frustrating shopping is the pits. Hope all goes well for me in a few minutes. I’m doing my list right now. Thanks everyone for the great tips. –Carrie
Not a dumb question–used to confuse me too–my understanding is it would be just one coupon per 2 boxes–add 2 more boxes–use another coupon!
I just realized right now that I didn’t list the Gen Mills newspaper coupons – whoops! This list is sloppy, but quick for me to paste in here from another site:
07-19 SS $1/2 General Mills Cereals any two listed
08-02 SS2 $1/2 General Mills Frosted Cheerios , Fruity Cheerios, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Banana Nut Cheerios or Yogurt Burst Cheerios Cereal any
08-02 SS2 $.50/1 General Mills Cookie Crisp Cereal any
08-09 GM $.75/1 General Mills Whole Grain Total, Total Raisin Bran, Total Honey Clusters, Total Cranberry Crunch or or Total Cinnamon Crunch
08-09 GM $1/3 General Mills Cereals any three listed
08-16 SS $1/2 General Mills Frosted Cheerios , Fruity Cheerios, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Banana Nut Cheerios or Yogurt Burst Cheerios , Original, Honey Nut, Berry Burst Cheerios, MultiGrain or Cheerios crunch Cereal any
This was my first double coupon shopping experience at Rainbow and I went to Plymouth and it was great!
My first transaction was the cereal deal.
I got the 8 boxes plus 4 boxes of Ronzoni pasta.
Had five $1.00 coupons to double plus an extra .50 coupon.
The total was $8.42 when I got the $10.00 off. Plus I still received the milk coupons for my second transaction!
Thanks for all of the great tips everyone!
Thanks Carrie for all the great deals!!! I was able to do two transactions and only paid $14 after all the coupons and doubling. I was able to get all the items free with coupons. I was able to use my split cornish hens coupon on the whole ones.
FYI to back up the totals needed for coupons.
With the BIGI the amount of both items count towards the $25 minimum. When the cashier hit the total button, my first total was only $19 after the BIGI’s were subtracted and my first five coupons still doubled in both transactions. Hope this helps!
So tonight I got some disheartening news from my cashier at Rainbow. He told me that they are no longer allowing mutliple transactions on Wednesdays (so that we can get multiple coupons doubled). I’m going to send a note to corporate that they are going to loose my business if this is indeed a new rule. (Cub is much closer for me, but I couldn’t pass up the deals at Rainbow).
Had a great day at Rainbow! Thanks!!
Rachel,
Which Rainbow was it? I shop at Forest Lake and use the same lady almost every time. Yesterday was an exception. I did 4 transactions (I dropped groceries off at the car after the first two). So then we just make more trips to the car if they won’t allow the multiple transactions…what a pain!
I found another benefit of shopping this way: I could use the express lane. I did so, for three separate transactions/trips through the store.
I hope you’re wrong, Rachel. Rainbow frequently has the best deals without double coupons but if corporate follows through on a “max of five coupons per customer” on Wednesday policy, my goodwill toward Rainbow would be considerably decreased.
Rachel – I’m curious how they will know if a person is making multiple transactions? Every time I’ve gone on Wednesday, the store was to busy for me to feel comfortable holding up the line doing multiple orders, so I always park my cart and pull out the stuff for my first order and put it in one of those little carriers, go through the line, take the stuff to my car and then go back to my cart and do it again until I’ve purchased everything. I also pay cash for groceries too. So for me, other than the Roundy’s card, there is no way they can track my multiple transactions.
