How-to Get More Walgreens Coupons

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

In recent shopping lists I have mentioned two fairly new sources of store coupons for Walgreens.  I tracked down images of them so you know what you’re hunting for.

walgreens activity book

First is an activity book (cover pictured above) that sells for $0.99. It should be in the toy section, but some have found them near the pharmacy (I guess that kids might pick them up when they’re waiting??). It is full of Walgreens store coupons that don’t expire until March 2010; that means you can also use one of these coupons and a manufacturer’s coupon for the same item.  As we watch the sales in months to come, I’m sure we’ll score lots of deals using these coupons.  To make the coupons last longer I have heard some folks say they actually keep the coupon after using it.  Since these are all Walgreens-issued coupons (versus manufacturer-issued coupons) they just get thrown out at the store. Manufacturer’s coupons, on the other hand, have to be mailed back to the manufacturer so that the store gets reimbursed, but store-issued coupons have no “value” to the store per se.

walgreens back-2-school

Second is a small pamphlet/flyer called “Back-2-School Coupon Book.”  This is free and you can find it in the rack near the door where the weekly sales flyers are kept. At my Walgreens they were in the spot where the old Easy Saver catalogs used to sit.  These coupons are also Walgreens-issued and can be used alongside a manufacturer-issued for the same item.  They expire on August 29, 2009.

Your turn: What deals have you found when you match one of these store-issued coupons alongside a sale item or a manufacturer-issued coupon?

How can you use these with manufacturer-issued coupons when Walgreens will only except one coupon per item. Example I was purchasing three items which I had a coupon for each and then a $2.00 register rewards but they would not except the register rewards because I had reached my limit of coupons.

  2. Tanya says:

Audrey – Walgreens has a policy that you can only have the same number of coupons as items. So if you have 3 items, you can only use 3 coupons. If you had found one more item as a “filler” then they would have taken the register rewards. Hope that helps.

In my experience, Walgreens coupon limit is on manufacturer coupons. If I have one item and 2 coupons (a Walgreens-issued and a manufacturer-issued), they have accepted those from me. What has everyone else’s experience been?

  3. Christine says:

RR count as manu coupons, not Wags coupons that why they wouldn’t take it

  4. Jennifer says:

FYI – one of the Walgreens I went to today had these in hanging from and endcap…for 25cents!

  7. Rebecca says:

The Walgreens I went to last night didn’t have anymore of these activity books, does anyone know if there are anymore still around?

  8. Judi says:

I have been unable to locate the Activity books as well. No-one has heard of them in Elk River, Sauk Rapids or St. Cloud. Whereabouts might they be?

  9. Judi says:

    Jennifer
Are you referring to the Activity book? If so, where (what town?)

  10. Kristin says:

I have not been able to find the activity book. Rogers store does not have it yet and they have never heard of it at the Andover store.

  11. Denise says:

yep, both the Andover store, and the Anoka (?, corner of Round Lake & Bunker Lake) have never heard of the Activity Book, and tried to sell me the Entertainment book for $25 instead.

  12. Becky says:

I have many different Walgreen stores near where I live. I have only found these books at a few of the stores, but they are out there.
