I have had issues where my CVS is sold out really quick on the free or sale items. Do they give the rainchecks on all items? If I pick up the items the following week will I still get ECB’s for those items???
I’m not sure that the Loreal deal qualifies for the free bag…the wrinkle kit qualifies but I don’t think the cleanser/towelettes do…Am I wrong?
Katie-
The answer to both of your questtions are “yes!” (My CVS is always out of everything too.)
@Katie – yes! Both CVS’s near me sell out quickly on sale items. We don’t shop on Sundays, so we’re nearly always too late. But their rainchecks include a line for the extra care bucks code so they can spit out the coupons at the end.
Last week when I bought a bunch of stuff on rebate – and it was all CVS brand back-to-school supplies from two weeks ago or more that were free after the ECB and was $20 worth so I got an extra $5 ECB on top! – the guy who rang me up just rang up everything at $0.00 so he didn’t have to do all the ECBs afterwards! No argument from me – it’s way easier to not pay out of pocket and have to track the ECB tickets!
I have to get rain checks from them all the time b/c somebody clears my CVS as well–and we go on Sundays. They finally had the most recent bodywash in stock ($2 MM with a q I had), but we are still waiting on some of the school supplies. We may have to buy them anyway b/c DD will be starting school soon. It makes me wonder if they restock them at all.
It’s really weird to me b/c our Wags is never cleared and sometimes it is the same item w/the same money back, etc. Fortunately, CVS rain checks never expire, but the extra bucks do, so it’s really frustrating sometimes, but I usually don’t have trouble rolling them.
they were out of the school boxes and headphones the manager pointed out that “the earbuds are a special buy and probably wont be back in store.” i just went to another CVS and they had them. btw, i went after church at 12:30 and the first CVS was out of everything except the pens.
I’ve gathered several CVS rainchecks with ECB’s, but still had issues with finding 5 electrosol diswashing tabs…they substituted one cascade. I’ve also been picking up the free school supplies…if they don’t have them ask if they will substitute.
Good idea: gather the school supplies and donate them to your local school. There are always families who need supplies and can’t afford them.
I love “pocket your dollars!” I’ve only been couponing for three weeks and have already managed to get $370 in free products – all products I use! Money out of pocket – $245 and I’ve made $23 to date shopping at CVS. I had no idea this could be so fun!
Thanks everyone for all of the great info. I appreciate all of your help.
I went to CVS yesterday and tried to get the Purex bogo but my CVS had it for $8.99 not $5.99. Also, I tried to get the Revlon make-up bogo and the cheapest make-up I could find was $7.99 not $1.99. Anyone else find this trouble?
One thing I’ve noticed the past few weeks is when I visit the store a second time later in the week (Thursday or Friday is usually when I go), they’ve received their stock shipments and can replenish some of their supply. That’s when I’ve been able to cash in most of my rainchecks!
I think most people are hitting up the store Sun-Mon because of all of the special deals they’ve been running on those days, but most people don’t come back later in the week.
I also had trouble finding the Revlon makeup for $1.99. I ended up getting mascara and eye shadow that I knew I would use and had the two $1.00 coupons as well as the $5 off of $25 purchase, so I felt like I still got them for free!
Yep…I couldn’t find anything cheaper than $4.99 (eye shadow singles) so I skipped this deal. That really bugged me…I feel like it’s false advertising!
I was also disappointed about the Revlon deal, but I expected it too because of past sales that they’ve had. But I still had all of my coupons ready just in case. Oh well!
I was only able to get a few things this week because they were out of stock of most of the items that were on sale (even the raincheck items that I’ve been holding onto). But I only spent $0.29 out of pocket, so I can’t complain!
Check out how I did on my blog post here:
