Since I was out of town last week I didn’t do this at its regular time, but I find this list helpful so I am putting it together very late for the August 9th paper – which was not this past Sunday, but the Sunday before.
The paper had three inserts including a General Mills, Red Plum and a Smart Source. Here are my picks of which of those coupons will likely result in something free or nearly free. The coupons are grouped into three categories, based on when I think they could result in a rock bottom price or a freebie. I also mention the eating out/recreation coupons that were in the Twin Cities’ inserts.
Everyday, Regular Priced Items
Buy the following products with a coupon from this weekend’s paper at their everyday price and you’ll get a great deal or maybe even a freebie.
Glade Soy Candle. “Try Me Free” coupon – no other purchase required.
Coffeemate Stick Pack. Buy one, get one free.
Fancy Feast Appetizers. Buy one, get one free.
Bic Stationery Products. Basic pens are about $.50 each at Target and Walmart with back-to-school sales making them free after this coupon.
Sale Priced Items
If these products go on sale before the coupon expires you will get a rock bottom price or maybe even a freebie.
Kraft Products. The Kraft rebate at Cub or Bylery’s is going on through August 23 and the $25 in groceries you need to buy is before coupons. Lots of cheese, mac & cheese and other coupons.
Scotch Tape. I know you’re not thinking about Christmas yet, but I bet you’ll get a great price on Scotch Tape just after Thanksgiving. Since this doesn’t expire until November 30 you should be good to go.
Colgate. I believe I will never pay a penny for toothpaste again and $1 off coupons like this are the key. Thanks Colgate!
Air Wick Products. These are free so often after coupons and sales that I actually pass them up now days.
Coupons Doubled in Value
If you can shop at a store where the value of your coupon is doubled and these products go on sale before the coupon expires, then you will get a rock bottom price or maybe even some freebies. In the Twin Cities Rainbow Foods is the only store I know of that regularly doubles coupons. Check out their coupon policies here.
Fiber One Yogurt. Almost every week these are on sale for $2, which makes them free when the $1 coupon is doubled in value.
Danimals, Activia and Dan Active Yogurt. Yay! More free yogurt when these are on sale for $2.
Total Cereal. $0.75 off one box is one of the highest value cereal coupons you’ll find.
Nature Valley Clusters. As is typical when a new product comes to market, you’ll see lots of high value coupons for it.
Betty Crocker Frosting. These occasionally go on sale for $1 and *hopefully* they will soon as fall begins and baking season kicks off.
Starbucks Ice Cream. This often sells for $3 a carton, making it just a buck when this coupon’s value is doubled. Yum!
Eating Out/Recreation
If you are inclined to pick up a second copy of this weekend’s insert consider checking with local coffee shops, libraries or restaurants and ask if you can have theirs or get one for $1 at most Dollar Tree stores (locations here).
Dave and Busters. Buy $10 in game play, get $10 free. Print another of these coupons here.
Boston Market. Various coupons, although there are higher value printables available now here.
