Carrie’s Picks: Coupon Inserts 8/16/09

coupons

There were two inserts in today’s paper, a Red Plum and a Smart Source.  Here are my picks of which of those coupons will likely result in something free or nearly free.  The coupons are grouped into three categories, based on when I think they could result in a rock bottom price or a freebie.  I also mention the eating out/recreation coupons that were in the Twin Cities’ inserts.

Everyday, Regular Priced Items

Buy the following products with a coupon from this weekend’s paper at their everyday price and you’ll get a great deal or maybe even a freebie.

Canine Bistro Entrees. You should be able to use both the Target buy one, get one free coupon and this manufacturer’s buy one, get one free coupon after registering here to get two cans free. Of course, any store that accepts competitor’s coupons (like CVS) should also honor both of these coupons.

A1. The small bottles are around $2.09 at Super Target and priced similarly at Walmart, making them just $0.09 after this coupon.

Archway Cookies. These almost never go on sale and they rarely have a coupon, so$0.55 is about the best you’ll do.

Buy a Fusion Razor Cartridge, Get either shave gel or clinical deodorant free.

Sale Priced Items

If these products go on sale before the coupon expires you will get a rock bottom price or maybe even a freebie.

Five Star Products. Great to match with back-to-school sales.

Soups.  Did you notice that the soup coupons are starting again?  They will continue through the winter.

Revlon Beauty Tool. Tweezers and nail clippers have been known to go on sale for $1 at Walgreens and CVS, which makes them free with this coupon.

Mentos Gum. Both CVS and Walgreens ran sales last time these $.55 coupons were out that made the gum free.

Dove Chocolate. I can only hope CVS or Walgreens come through with a sale to make a bag of chocolate free.

Oral B Toothbrush. Buy one cross action brush, get one free. I bet these will go on sale before this expires on September 30.

Coupons Doubled in Value

If you can shop at a store where the value of your coupon is doubled and these products go on sale before the coupon expires, then you will get a rock bottom price or maybe even some freebies.  In the Twin Cities Rainbow Foods is the only store I know of that regularly doubles coupons.  Check out their coupon policies here.

Promax Protein Bar. If these go on sale for $1 (or 10 for $10 as they say) we’re in luck.

Eating Out/Recreation

Quiznos. Lots of buy one, get one free coupons.

Baker’s Square. 20% off entire check and a number of pie coupons.

If you are inclined to pick up a second copy of this weekend’s insert consider checking with local coffee shops, libraries or restaurants and ask if you can have theirs or get one for $1 at most Dollar Tree stores (locations here).

Your turn: What other deals are you planning to get with the coupons from this weekend’s paper?

Mt. Olive and i love those emerald cashews. i always use that one at Rainbow on Wed. and i like the reynolds foil because we are out.

Bergens SuperValu in the Nokomis neighborhood in S MPLS doubles coupons everyday that are up to $0.50 and I beleive there is no limit on the number of coupons. They have weekly specials and an add that goes out locally but you can grab it in store as well. Prices are a little higher but if it’s on sale you can probably get a good deal or even some freebies.
