Aldi is the place to buy fish this week. My top picks are based on the Twin Cities sales flyer and Aldi’s prices vary greatly by region. If you are new to Aldi, remember that they don’t accept coupons, only take cash, EBT or debit cards (no credit cards), and you have to bring your own shopping bag or pay $.05 to buy one of theirs.
Produce
Peaches, Plums, Nectarines. $0.29 each. I think it will work out a little better than Rainbow’s $1.29 per pound, since I imagine that you’d get 3-4 pieces of fruit per pound. It may/may not be better than Cub’s $1.00/lb on peaches and nectarines. Anyone know how much an average size peach or nectarine weighs??
Cantaloupe. $0.99 each. I doubt you’ll find a better price anytime this summer. This is rock bottom.
Fish
Mahi Mahi. $4.99/lb (frozen, boxed)
Wild Caught Salmon. $3.99/lb. They also have a whole Sockeye Salmon fillet for $5.99/lb (sold in 24 oz package), but I didn’t think that was a stellar price.
Catfish. $3.99/lb
Sea Scallops. $6.99/lb
Tilapia. $3.32/lb (sold in 24 oz package)
Your turn: Have you tried Sea Queen brand seafood from Aldi? What did you think? Which fish products are the best? Which would you pass up even if they’re on sale at a great price?

I buy their salmon and shrimp. Never had a problem with it. Plus they come with the money back guarantee!
We buy the tilapia and love it – my seven year old even requested it for his birthday dinner!
I have used the Sea Queen products many times. No complaints! I might have to go and get myself some catfish this week. Yum!
