My week of shopping was a little off kilter in that I didn’t go to Rainbow on Wednesday, which I do almost every week. After a trip to Walmart and Menards last Saturday I just didn’t want to make another trip out. Between Walmart and Menards I got all of the following free (after coupons and to-come-in-the-mail rebates)

How’d I do it?
- Menards has a mail-in rebate program where a number of items are free every week after rebate. I intend to regularly post their free-after-rebate deals and will summarize how this program works later this weekend. That’s where I got everything but the formula, which includes:
- 2 Elmer’s Nano Glues
- Black and Decker T-drive (mini-screwdriver with interchangeable bits)
- Irwin Hand Saw
- 10 Crayola Total Tools – some are packages of wide tip markers, others are highlighters and others are glue in a roller pen-like thing
- Infant Formula: These lactose free cans were marked down to $5.00 each and I used 3 of the $5.00 coupons Enfamil recently mailed me to make them all free.
Your next question naturally is – what am I going to do with all of this? Or, what could you do with all of this if you would have gotten it yourself?
- The Crayola Total Tools – They are going into my stash of kid’s gifts for now. Some of my nieces and older friends of my daughter have birthdays coming up. I might match these markers with some tag board and stickers from the dollar store for an artsy gift. If I still have them left later this year I will either give them to charity in a school supply drive or Christmas gift drive
- Hand saw – If your family doesn’t need it, then consider using it as a housewarming gift for a first time home buyer. Also, if your church sends youth or adult teams do to construction-related missions projects they might find the saw handy and they can leave it behind.
- Black and Decker T-Drive – Ditto
- Glue – We use lots of glue so I know we’ll use it, but ditto the ideas I mentioned above.
Your turn: How did you do this week with your shopping?

Thanks Carrie, I’d love to hear about Menards’ mail-in rebate program where a number of items are free every week after rebate.
