Aldi Shopping List 6/28 – 7/4/09

 aldi2

Aldi has some good prices on produce and meat this week.  If you are new to Aldi, remember that they don’t accept coupons, only take cash, EBT or debit cards (no credit cards), and you have to bring your own shopping bag or pay $.05 to buy one of theirs.  Here are my top picks this week, based on the Twin Cities’ ad:

Produce

Blueberries.  $.99 per pint
Strawberries.  $.99 per pound
Roma Tomatoes.  $.99 for 4-pack
Grape Tomatoes.  $.99 per pack

Meat

Frozen Chicken Breasts.  $1.83 per pound (sold in 3 lb bag for $5.49)
Pork Chops.  $1.99 per pound
Turkey Italian Sausage.  $2.39 per pound (sold in 20 oz package for $2.99)

Other Grocery

Hamburger or Hot Dog Buns.  $.79 for 12 oz

Your turn: Last week when Istopped into my Aldi (Champlin) mangoes were on unadvertised special for $.29 each.  Did you find an unexpected great deal when you stopped at Aldi?  If so, leave a comment and let us know.

They had $3 off spiral hams. Price seemed pretty good, if I didn’t already have a ham in my mom’s freezer because I didn’t have enough room in my own to hold 2 when Cub was doing a BOGO deal around thanksgiving I think??? That was all that really popped out at me, then again I had a toddler wanting EVERYTHING along with so I had to hurry. :)

I found overripe bananas at my Aldi (Sunray area) a couple of weeks ago for 1/2 price. I got a few bags and froze them for baking.
