This week I spent $55 for $165 in groceries and everything pictured below for free. I also got 2 bottles of Sobe Water and 1 container of Breyer’s ice cream free, but forgot to include them in the picture. On top of that I got $8 in store credit to use at CVS on my next visit and spent 30 minutes getting my lists and coupons together, which translates to $220 per hour.

How’d I do it? Well, I ended up shopping at quite a number of stores this week. I went to Walgreens next to my work late last week to use the $5 off $25 coupon they had available, then CVS on Monday, and Walmart and Rainbow on Wednesday. At Rainbow I actually did three transaction so that I could double more coupons. I’ve gotten to know the evening cashier by name (Hi Amanda! She reads this blog too) and she is gracious with me and my coupons. In lieu of my usual rundown of the actual coupons I used, I am going to direct you to the Rainbow and CVS shopping lists here and here and just point out a couple highlights from Walmart:
- Kraft Barbeque Sauce: Bought 3 and used (3) $1/1 here at Walmart
- Dentek Dental Picks: Bought 2 and used (2) $1/1 here at Walmart
How did you do this week? Leave a comment and share your success story of saving money.

I love getting the Activia yogurt free at Rainbow too with a $2 sale and a $1 coupon on double days. The vanilla flavor is my and my son’s favorite yogurt.
Me too, Val. After getting so much yogurt free it pains me to pay much of anything for it. Even without a sale, the Yo-plus 4 pack is $2.59, which makes it $.59 after a $1 off is doubled. If not free, then 15 cents per yogurt cup is a deal! –Carrie
This is my favorite new site! Thank you so much for putting all this together in such a great format – you are truly helping my family and our budget!
