Yay!  I just discovered an Aldi store right near my work.  I’m excited because I’ll be able to stop in there and pick up a couple of their great deals on produce this week:

  • Mangoes: $.39
  • Avocados: $.49
  • 3 pack of peppers (red, yellow, green): $1.29

  1. Any chance you’ll be covering Festival Foods in the future?

Probably the closest one to you is in Brooklyn Park, so it isn’t the most convenient. I have one very close to me, and I don’t usually shop it. But a couple of weeks ago I saw their weekly ad included a box of No Name steaks for $9.99. I think the usual price I pay at Target is $15 or $16 so it was a really good deal. (At the No Name Steaks website, a box of the original steaks is $29.99!) Plus, the ad had 3 coupons, so you could get up to 3 boxes.

Avonelle – I don’t get flyers for Festival and working off the ones posted on the internet is super time consuming, so probably not. But, I may do a quick perusal and point out anything that jumps out at me as a rock bottom price or that I know has a coupon match. Festival is a SuperValu store – same as Cub – so I am not sure how similar/different their sales are?? As for Aldi, I buy most of our produce there because it is significantly less expensive than even the sale prices anywhere else. I’m glad to have found one close to where I work – yay! Thanks for reading and for the question. –Carrie

I live about a mile from the B. Park Festival, and it’s got some high prices, but it’s a nice clean store so I do stop in if there is a sale or there is something I need quickly. Just a heads up–in their flyer this week you can get the small packages of Gold N Plump chicken thighs or drumsticks for $2. That is without a coupon! So if you have any of the $1 or $2 GNP coupons that were in the Strib recently you can get the chicken free, or almost free. I stocked up.
Some of the sales compare with the ones at Cub, but often times the same item will be just a little different in price that the same thing that is at Cub. Usually just a tiny bit higher, although not always.
It’s a nice, clean store. The cashiers are friendly. Good produce, good meat. They carry the Coleman beef (no hormones , all natural) on sale with BOGO free coupons quite a bit. It’s the only ground beef i will buy. It tastes so much better.

Got all of those on my first trip to Aldis, love the store! Will get most my vege and fruit from there from now on.
