I am often asked about my opinion of the prices at Sam’s Club. Let me say this – my family does have a membership because 1) we got it for $15 on special earlier this year and 2) we order our infant formula online by the case. We did the math and figured out that after 1 case of formula the membership had paid for itself, so we did it. For the things my family buys I can get most of them cheaper when I match sale prices and coupons at other stores. Crystal, at Money Saving Mom, recently posted about this very thing; check it out here.
However, there are a couple of things that I think are great deals at Sam’s:
- Infant Formula: $.45 per ounce versus $1.00+ per ounce for name brand
- 93% Lean Jennie-O Ground Turkey: $1.87/lb (you buy 5 lbs at a time)
- Rotisserie Chicken: $4.97 for a 3 lb bird
- Milk: $1.87
- Eggs: I can’t remember the price, but their everyday price beats the grocery stores by far
What do you buy at Sam’s Club that you think is a really good deal compared to the grocery store?

I have also noticed that most stuff is more expensive at Sam’s. I do like to check out their produce, though. I often find that it’s a great price and usually very fresh!
