These are the best deals I see this week at Rainbow – assuming you go on Wednesday and have the value of your coupons doubled. Click here to see a run down of Rainbow’s coupon policies and how to get your coupons doubled in value. To learn how to read this shopping list and understand the abbreviations used click here.
****Note: Rainbow has historically given “overage” (in essence a credit toward the other groceries you were purchasing) when the value of a doubled coupon exceeds the price of the item, but they are not doing that anymore. I noticed that on my receipt last week and got some comments from others that they experienced the same thing.

hi and thanks for the great deals! I am a little confused on the Kellogg’s deal.. can’t I double 5 $1/1′s and use 5 more $1/1 and pay at little as 7.50 oop and get 2 movie tickets? I don’t have that many $1/1′s but that would be best case, yes? I will see if I can make a low oop with 3 poptart q’s and 4 kellogg’s $1/1′s. ($10 for 2 movie tickets, 4 cereal and 6 poptarts?) thank you for the idea!
Kim – Yep, if you have 5 $1/1 then you can get a really awesome deal! Let me know how it turns out. –Carrie
I see my math is incorrect, but hopefully you get the gist!! (10 $1/1′s would get you down to $10, not 7.50)
Has anyone tired the $1/8 on the Yoplait? The coupon says on it “DO NOT DOUPLE OR TRIPLE.” Just wondering if anyone else has had success… Thanks!
Erika – I have often asked the cashier at Rainbow about that wording on coupons. The answer I have always gotten is, “well, I’ll ring it and if it doubles then it does and if the register won’t allow it, then I won’t.” I plan to ask my Rainbow again today about that. –Carrie
On the Kellogg’s deal – I was able to print off 10 $1/1 coupons for applicable Kellogg’s cereals from coupons.com. (BTW, Special K is not listed on the advertisement.) That would bring it down to $15.00 for 10 boxes of cereal. If I had done this yesterday, I could have saved another $5.00 but…well, it just didn’t happen. : ) I feel like that’s still a good deal for 10 boxes of cereal and 2 movie tickets.
I noticed in the Rainbow ad that they had Roundy’s fish sticks for $2 each. I feel like that’s a really good deal since it says they are normally around $7 each.
Thanks for doing this blog and putting together these shopping lists. They have been extremely helpful.
